Question: How are birthdays celebrated while on tour with Mrs. Berthao?
Answer: We love birthday treats! Please feel free to send in some treats on or near your child's birthday, if you wish. We have 25 students and 3 teachers! It is best to send in something that your child can pass out to the students, rather than cake that I would have to divide evenly into 25 pieces! (I do LOVE math, but that presents a little bit of a challenge for me!) I do not need any advance notice if you choose to send in birthday treats. Please make sure they are nut free and peanut free!
Question: What are Mrs. Berthao's fourth graders doing for Halloween?
Answer: We will have a simple sweet treat and a delicious drink followed by a simple, quick craft. If our room parent contacted you for this event, thank you for your contribution. If you did not get called, I'm sure you'll be contacted for the next simple event!
Question: How will Mrs. Berthao's class acknowledge the winter holidays?
Answer: More details will follow when we get closer to the event. Typically, we have a simple sweet treat, followed by a movie that relates to some part of our curriculum. We often watch a movie after we have read the book so that we can compare/contrast how the book and movie are similar and different. This helps convince the students that the book is always better than the movie!
Question: How will Mrs. Berthao's class celebrate Valentine's Day?
Answer: Our class will be invited to bring in Valentine's Day cards on a specific day in February. If a student decides to participate, he/she must bring in one card for each student. I will provide a class list at the appropriate time. During snack time the students will be able to exchange cards with their classmates.
